Writing Challenge – Week 5

Here is my writing challenge with connectives.

The sky was clear. There were no clouds and the weather was warm, but not too hot. The flowers were blooming as it was the middle of spring and the air felt fresh. When I go outside, I feel happy as soon as I step out the door. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because of the air, the air might have happiness bubbles in it. When I look up at the sky, it’s so beautiful. It would make a photo, except my camera’s in my room. I go back to get it. Once I have figured out the perfect lighting and position, I look through the camera, and I count down. 3…2…1…wait. There’s a little speck in the sky. That shouldn’t be there. My photo will be ruined! After I calm down a bit, I wonder what

Writing Challenge – Using Connectives

Here is a short story I wrote using connectives!

A while ago my family and I went on holiday to Noosa National Park. We went on a trail and it was so much fun! Before we went on the trail, we had to look at a map so that we knew where we were going. There were heaps of birds and wildlife there, and after we finished the walk I saw a koala! Even though we got a bit tired after a while, it was still really interesting. There were so many different native trees and animals there, so I was taking so many photos! The birds that I saw were very colourful, and because it was so quiet there, the noises that the birds were making sounded really loud. As I walked along, I could see little signs with information about the place and the wildlife, which was really interesting. I had to wear sneakers because it was muddy and there might have been snakes! Luckily when we went, there weren’t any. Going on the trail was very fun and cool, and I also learnt a few things from it! Whenever we go to Noosa, I want to go to to the national park again!

Country of Focus: China

This week, the country of focus is China. Here are some cool facts about it!

China is in Asia, and it is in the northern hemisphere. The capital city is Beijing. 3 of China’s neighbouring countries are Mongolia, which is to the north, India, which is south-west, and North Korea, which is east. China’s population is about 1,444,770,000 – which makes it the biggest country in the world! Most of the population speak Mandarin, but there are many other languages. China has 2 currencies: yuan and renminbi. One connection between China and Australia is that the country that visits Australia most is China.

Fun Fact: The giant pandas in China can swim!
